Finalists Announced in 14th Annual Utah Innovation Awards
SALT LAKE CITY— Twenty-eight innovations and the Utah companies that created them have been named a finalist or honorable mention recipient in the 14th annual Utah Innovation Awards, presented by Stoel Rives LLP and the Utah Technology Council. Winners will be announced, and finalists and honorable mention recipients will be honored, at a special Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Hilton Salt Lake

This statewide program, the first of its kind and sponsored by Webb Audio Visual Communication, Utah Business Magazine, KUER 90.1, USTAR, ViaWest, Lone Peak Productions, STEM Utah Coalition, Grant Thornton and GoEngineer is designed to recognize innovations and the Utah companies that created them. A committee of more than 80 experts from Utah’s private industry, government and academic communities voted on winners and finalists in each of the program’s eight categories: Clean Technology and Energy; Computer Hardware/Electrical Devices; Consumer Software; Enterprise Software, Cloud and Big Data; Life Science – Biotech; Life Science – Medical Device; Mechanical Systems/Chemicals/Manufacturing; and Outdoor and Consumer Products. The Selection Committee votes were tallied by the accounting firm and Platinum
Sponsor, Grant Thornton.
In addition to identifying finalists, the Selection Committee also identified innovations worthy of honorable mention (note: there is no restriction on the number of honorable mention recipients recognized in each category). Special to RSNA 2014, Nov. 20, 2014, Chicago—Continuing the innovation from its advanced expertise in radiation technology and x-ray device innovation, Turner MedTech, of Orem, Utah, is premiering ClearShield™ at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting Nov. 30–Dec. 4. ClearShield may be found in the South Hall Booth #4079 of McCormick Place.
ClearShield is lead-free, eco-friendly, and it complies with European Union RoHS requirements. ClearShield is composed of a patent-pending bismuth material that produces a clear acrylic lead-free sheet for reliable shielding protection from x-ray exposure. There is absolutely no lead utilized.
ClearShield comes in standard sizes, thicknesses and lead (Pb) equivalent shielding ratings. It may also be custom fabricated for specific needs. ClearShield is currently available in limited sizes with additional sizes scheduled for availability in Q1 2015.
